Members are advised that the Committee has called a Special General Meeting of the State Emergency Service Association of NSW Incorporated.
The purpose of the meeting is to consider and vote on the following Special Resolution.
Special Resolution
That the Association repeal its current Constitution in full and adopt the new Constitution dated 24 November 2025, as circulated with this notice, as the Constitution of the State Emergency Service Association of NSW Incorporated.
A 75% majority of votes cast by eligible members is required for this Special Resolution to pass.
Note: Eligible members means a member who is eligible under clause 39 of the current constitution:
39 Voting
(1) A member is not entitled to vote at a general meeting unless the member:
(a) is at least 18 years of age, and
(b) has paid all money owed by the member to the association, and
(c) is classified as a Paying Member, as outlined in clause 5.(2) Each member has 1 vote, except as provided by clause 38(2)(b).
(3) Notwithstanding subclause (1), Ordinary Members elected or appointed to
the Committee shall have full voting rights at general meetings during
their term of office, notwithstanding that they are not a Paying Member.
This does not confer eligibility to vote during an Annual General Meeting
election to elect office-bearers, clause 33(4)(c), unless they are a Paying
Member.
